Making Masks

I've been very busy on the mask front over the last few months. I've taught various mask making workshops in the USA and in the UK.

This is the latest mask pendant I've finished. It is called Sentinella di Venezia. I actually started this one ages ago, and there it sat waiting, waiting, waiting... until inspiration hit and I found the time to bring it into life! :)

These are a few of the other mask pendants I've made recently.

This one is called Essenza di Venezia. You can see how this mask was made in my step by step online workshop with CraftCast

The next mask pendant is called Fireocity, more of a devilish little friend! :)

And this one is called Shuki Iru.

These masks will all be going in my website shop soon.

Meanwhile if you make jewellery and fancy having a go at making your very own unique silver and enamel mask pendant you'll find details of my workshops on my website, and I am now selling mask moulds for the basic face shape as well!! :)

Have fun!

Teaching Mask Making!!

Here she is! The second of the two masks I have been working on. She is called Japanese Mystery and is another fine silver and enamel pendant, made using Art Clay Silver. She measures approx 42mm x 42mm.

I am delighted that I will be teaching my new workshop - Colourful Carnival Masks - next year in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors at Glaisdale.

It will be at my friend's Lynne Glazzard's wonderful newly refurbished studio on 29th & 30th June 2013. You can read the details here. Spaces are limited so book early!!

After I finished this mask I thought it would be fun to put a small collage of some of my masks to add to my Facebook page so I thought I would post it here as well. It is interesting to see how the masks are developing as time goes on :)

Arcobaleno alla Moda

Here she is... finished!! What a difference a bit of colour makes :) I do hope that you like her. She is called Arcobaleno alla Moda because she is a fashionable rainbow!

The reverse is simply decorated with a few little sparklies.

You can see from the photo below she is quite small.

This is the first of two workshop examples I am making - now it is back to finishing the second mask.

Watch this space for more photos in the next day or two;-)

Work in Progress

I am working on a new carnival mask (well two actually!). Here is the first one fresh out of the kiln.

Now all I need to do is polish it, add the Enamel Accents wires, enamel it, patinate it, polish it again, etc, etc...  lol.

Well you get the idea!

It will be a Colourful Carnival Mask when it is finished!

Watch this space ;-)

Whoo Hoo AGAIN!!

Yesterday I received some really fantastic news.

Back in January when I went a bit quiet on my blog here it was because I was busy making a competition entry for the International Silver Accessories Competition run by Aida Chemicals, the makers of Art Clay Silver,  in Japan.

It is another of my mask pendants called Spirito di Venezia. I am so excited as I have been awarded an Honourable Mention for it!!

All the winning entries will be up on their website later this week so I will post a link to it then.

Anyway I was excited to receive my copy of the latest Making Jewellery magazine issue 7, which has my mask as the Inspirations feature this month.
