WCC 13/52 - Don't Count Your Chickens...

Now for something completely different! This critter coincided with Easter, so of course it had to be something topical. This is a tiny fine silver chicken bead sitting on her silver wire nest. She is a little pendant. I made her using Art Clay Silver fired over a wood clay base to make a hollow bead, and then enamelled her.

I think she is really fun...

...and really little! :)

Here is her poem

Broody little hen
Sitting on her eggs
Soon fluffy little chicks
Will run about her legs

This is the fourth of EIGHT posts for today to catch me up - so do check out my others :)

WCC 12/52 - Cataflaged

Another cat critter! (I said there would be more :) ). This time it is a fine silver pendant made using Art Clay Silver. The pendant is reversible and on one side we have the cat which was added using my Enamelled Accents technique. He has lovely green enamel eyes and a pink nose. A hidden cat!

The back is quite simple with a nice texture and a star shaped stone set near the top, and my Joy logo.

Here is the poem

Emerald Eyes
Mischievous glint
Playful gaze
And purring hint

Bird a Month 11/12 - Night Owl

Here is my Bird a Month for November. I know I have done owls before but everyone keeps asking so I thought I would make another, and he is a variation on a theme ;-)

He has bright yellowy orange eyes and an alert look!

This little fine silver pendant measures about 26mm in diameter and the reverse is set with a lovely little orange CZ.

I am currently updating my Etsy shop and adding new things all the while, and this little guy is already there!

Updating the shop on my website is my next job.

Only one more bird now for the end of the challenge. It is time to start thinking about next years challenges. Any ideas?

Bird a Month 6/12 - Twit Twoo

Twit Twoo!! My cute little solid silver owl sculpture is my Bird a Month for June. I am very excited about this one as my step by step tutorial for making him is the the newest issue of Metal Clay Artist Magazine which is just coming out. It is the third anniversary edition of MCAM Vol 3 Issue 3 and it includes some wonderful projects including Lesley Messam and Gordon Uyehara, and a great article about Wanaree Tanner who is producing some fantastic work at the moment!

Even better - I also have a feature piece in it about undertaking challenges!! If you do not already subscribe you can buy an issue via the website and here in the UK it will be available in W H Smith soon :)

Above is another piece I have made for the Guild of Enamellers exhibition in Whitby in July - I have called him Tropical Tree Frog :)

I just seem to keep enamelling rainbows at the moment and the set below, Swirling Rainbows, are also for the exhibition.

Tomorrow I shall be at the Riverdell Country Fair at Burwash in East Sussex. It should be a great day.

Maybe I will see you there?
