I do use a tiny bit of water if I have stones facing downwards, although for 2mm I find they tend to stay put anyway :D Joy Funnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04813881468698418006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6437556071335477591.post-43933546631466245402019-09-29T15:33:44.373+01:002019-09-29T15:33:44.373+01:00And a bit of water into the hole before putting th...And a bit of water into the hole before putting the stone in? <br />Mary Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245766909426554647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6437556071335477591.post-7723285162439078552019-09-29T10:30:54.497+01:002019-09-29T10:30:54.497+01:00Hi, you need to use a stone setting burr the exact...Hi, you need to use a stone setting burr the exact same size as the stone. The hole needs to be deep enough that the flat top surface of the stone is level with or slightly below the surface of the clay when the stone is sitting in place. As the clay fires it shrinks and holds the stone in place. If you don't put the stone in low enough what can happen is the shrinkage pushes the stone up and out so you need to check that girdle of the stone (the widest part) is nicely below the surface of the clay :D Hope that helps!
